GS-AGRO Enterprises Limited Packhouse Visit & Quality Assessment

Date of Visit: 27 September 2026

Strengthening Quality, Traceability and Export Readiness

As part of the GS-AGRO Avocado Project, the GS-AGRO Enterprises LTD team recently conducted a visit to avocado packhouse facilities to assess operations and gain a deeper understanding of the processes involved in preparing Kenyan avocados for local and international markets.

The visit forms part of GS-AGRO’s commitment to building a reliable avocado supply chain based on quality, freshness, traceability, professional handling and strong partnerships from farm to market.

Assessing the Avocado Handling Process

During the visit, the GS-AGRO team observed key stages of packhouse operations, including fruit receiving, quality assessment, sorting, grading, sizing, packing and preparation for storage and transportation.

Particular attention was given to areas that can directly influence avocado freshness and marketability, including careful fruit handling, hygiene, packaging, traceability, storage conditions and maintaining product quality throughout the supply chain.

Quality from Farm to Market

The packhouse plays an important role in connecting Kenyan avocado growers with local and international markets.

For GS-AGRO , understanding packhouse operations is essential to developing a coordinated supply chain in which farmers, packhouses, logistics partners and buyers work together toward consistent quality standards.

The visit also provided valuable practical insight into the requirements farmers need to consider before their avocados reach the packhouse, including harvesting practices, fruit maturity, careful handling and overall product quality.

Fresh Kenyan Avocados for European Markets

GS-AGRO Enterprises LTD is also focused on supplying and exporting Kenyan avocados to European markets, where buyers expect consistency, traceability, quality and dependable delivery.

Our packhouse assessments are therefore an important part of ensuring that the avocados entering our supply chain are professionally handled and prepared with international markets in mind.

From harvesting and packhouse handling through packing, storage and transportation, our objective is to protect the freshness and quality of the fruit throughout its journey.

We want European importers, distributors and customers to have confidence in Goldstar as a dependable source of fresh Kenyan avocados.

Supporting Kenyan Avocado Growers

Through the GS-AGRO Avocado Project, we are working to strengthen connections between Kenyan avocado growers and international market opportunities.

Our approach is focused on building relationships across the entire avocado value chain and helping create a transparent and dependable route from the farm to the final customer.

By working closely with growers and industry partners, GS-AGRO aims to support improved quality, reduce avoidable post-harvest losses and strengthen commercial opportunities for Kenyan avocado producers.

Building Strong Packhouse Partnerships

The GS-AGRO Enterprises Packhouse Visit & Quality Assessment represents an important step in developing relationships with facilities capable of supporting our avocado supply and export programme.

As the project develops, GS-AGRO Enterprises LTD will continue engaging with farmers, packhouses, logistics providers, exporters, importers, distributors and buyers in Kenya, Europe and other international markets to establish a dependable and commercially sustainable supply network.

Our objective is to build long-term partnerships based on professionalism, transparency, quality, trust and reliable delivery.
